And, really, what a great way to have some fun! And, wow! Once you start looking, there's endless amounts of pirate everything!
This blog post is about relaxing, having fun, and moving a bit out of your comfort zone. And, what a great way to do it~ by celebrating September 19th! Every September 19th. Now, you don't have to do the same thing every year (unless you had so much fun doing what you did, that you cannot wait to do it, again!) but do something each year.
Now, if pirates aren't your thing, International Day of Peace will be here in just a couple days and if that doesn't resonate with you, just make up your own thing. Just do something! Pick a day, a theme, and come up with some fun and unique thing to do. Remember this is about you enjoying yourself and spending time with people that you want to.
What's your plan for Talk Like a Pirate Day? Have you thought of anything fun to do? It's the perfect day to choose to have a bit of fun, maybe even be a little more goofy than usual. If you're really feeling festive, you could have a dress like a pirate night party! Use this day to move out of your comfort zone. How much trouble could you really get in? ;) When you're planning your perfect pirate day, be sure to decide if it's an all day affair or if you're only going to participate a little bit. Why? So that you don't burn yourself out or get sick of it. This is just for a bit of fun, keep it within your fun boundaries. Be sure to dress accordingly! Inside or outside makes a difference in September!
If by chance you do a Pirate Party (for adults, kids, or teens) you could make some really great invitations! And, you could go crazy with all of the decorations! Imagine all of the Pirate Party Favors that you could have and make! We've listed a whole bunch of ideas for you in this blog post, but by all means, come up with more!

Oh! Treasure maps! They're so much fun! You could make treasures maps for anything~really. Anything! You could make a treasure map for directions to your house or party place! You could have a variety of treasure hunts with hints and prizes all the way to the surprise chest! If you really wanted to make it challenging, add a scavenger hunt in there or even some trivia. The ideas are endless!
Movies!
There are a ton of fun family movies out there that have pirates in them and quite a few adult only ones, too. What about making a pirate movie night to celebrate this fun and obscure holiday? What a great reason to have some exciting downtime!
What a great way to spend some quality time with your little ones. And, what a fun, kind-of random, holiday to celebrate!
So, whether you're a book buyer or are going to go to the library, have a great time finding some books to read. And, try talking like a pirate! Ha! Now, that's fun! ;)
